Christmas Outreach Program
This program started in 1987 at Faith Lutheran in Troy.
We have provided gifts to more than 86,000 children in our community. We praise God for giving us this connection with the children and that He has included us in His plan.
We know there is a great need as we go through these turbulent times, and we appreciate any help and assistance you can offer to make a difference in the lives of these children.
There are four ways you can impact underserved youth this Christmas:
Purchase items and ship them to our workshop
Donate and We Will Do the Shopping
Suggested Donations:
$30 will provide a child with hygiene items, socks and underwear
$100 will provide a child with a toy, books, clothing and hygiene items.
$300 will provide two children in our area with all of the above plus a warm winter coat each.
Sponsor A Child
If you decide to become a sponsor, we ask that you give each child five gifts; this ensures that each child in a family receives the same number of presents as their siblings who might be sponsored by someone else.
Please consider asking friends, family, co-workers, or neighbors to join you in sponsoring a child (or children!) this year.
A few things to consider when shopping:
- Please pray about your selection and for your child. The Lord knows their needs and situation.
- Please only select non-violent toys (no toy guns, knives, swords, etc.)
- Please buy batteries if your gift requires them.
- Please do not buy controversial books (vampire books, Harry Potter, etc.)
- Gift receipts may be included, but please do not include gift certificates, cash, store receipts, or store price tags.
Gift Wrapping Instructions:
- Please remove at least ¾ of the price tag from each gift, place each unwrapped gift into a separate gift bag (5 total), and attach a Christmas gift tag with the child’s name.
- Please place all five bags into one large plastic Christmas bag OR a plastic tub with a lid and attach a Christmas gift tag with the child’s name. Putting the child’s number on the gift tag is unnecessary.
- Please do not attach large bows, candy, or other decorations since they will likely be crushed or fall off before arriving to the child.
- Please print out the ID tag for your child from the email sent to you after selecting a child, then fill out the content portion of the tag. Loosely attach the filled out ID tag to the outside of the large plastic bag or tub that has the 5 gifts bags inside. The ID tag must be attached to your gift for tracking purposes. We will remove it before the gift is given to the sponsored child.
