Summer should be a season of wonder for every child. It should be full of new places, new friendships, and the simple joy of being a kid. This summer, thanks to a community that cares deeply, that is exactly what our children experienced.

Forty children joined us for a day camp filled with learning, laughter, and belonging. Students received targeted instruction in both math and reading, with assessments showing measurable improvement over just four weeks. Our summer camp also provided children with a wonderful opportunity to learn about Jesus and grow in their faith through engaging lessons, Bible reading, music and crafts. Sports camp each day was a highlight for the children, bringing older and younger participants together for relays, team sports, and games that fostered teamwork and friendships. One of the most anticipated activities each week was the water fun day, which quickly became a favorite among all the campers. The Field Trips were packed with discovery. They explored art at the Detroit Institute of Arts, DNR Outdoor Adventures, spent time at the library, and made the kind of memories that last long after summer ends.

For the very first time, thanks to the generous support of 100 Women Who Care Greater Rochester and Rochester Christian Church, we were able to use our own van to transport children safely to and from camp each day.

Seven children were able to spend a full week at Wildwood Ranch for sleepaway camp. For many of them, it was a first: a first night away, a first taste of the outdoors, a first chance to simply be a camper among friends. These are the experiences that shape a childhood, and they are only possible because of the generosity of people like you.

The adventures are not over yet. Later this summer, another group of children will head to STEAM camp to explore, create, and discover the gifts God has placed inside them. We cannot wait to share those stories with you too.

Behind every one of these moments is a community that believes every child deserves to be cared for. Your support gave these children a summer of joy, and it reminded them of something they will carry with them always: that they are seen, known, and loved.
